look u need to devote time..these are the thngs u can actually try..
1. rub tomato slices or lemon juice on it daily
2. use a mild scrub but use it gently enuff but regularly..
3. get a massage done weekly from a parlour or at hom by someone else.
4.n if it still dsnt help visit some skin clinic like KAYA they definitely have the solutions.

Mix besan with curd and rub it on the dark area. leave it there for two mins everyday. it will get lighter itself. OR try putting a mixture of i tsp sugar with one lemon. rub it till the sugar disolves

use sugar scrub they sell it at walmart and also if you know of anyone that sells avon buy avon banishing cream i had a dark spot on my neck after i lost alot of wieght and using both those things worked for me good luck
